Thatcham’s Nature Discovery Centre proves perfect photography spot to help manage mental health


A Thatcham person has spoken out about how pictures has assisted him manage his mental wellness.

Matt Dolinski, who suffers from PTSD, despair and nervousness, reported that he “can’t seem back” now just after finding an outlet in using images in nature.

He very first examined pictures as a 17-yr-old at college, but it was only for the duration of the first lockdown that he began getting photos in the course of walks around his house.

“I was just employing my telephone digital camera, then my wife’s father realised I was obtaining pretty significant so he gave me his previous digicam,” Matt, 34, spelled out.

“I started posting them on Fb pages and which is when I commenced getting a great deal of good comments, especially from men and women who were being isolating and could not get out.”

Matt and his spouse and children moved to Thatcham in March 2021 and he started out getting his walks all over the Nature Discovery Centre. It was listed here that he fulfilled and started out chatting to a pictures podcaster, who at some point interviewed him about his mental well being and how his new passion was supporting him.

“Since I have be carrying out my Instagram site and the interview went stay I have experienced a great deal of people calling me and relating to what I mentioned,” included Matt, who life with his “tremendously supportive” wife and two young kids.

“I want to enable people today not shy absent from how they experience you should not have to shy absent from how you really feel.

“When I am out taking pics almost everything just goes absent anything just stops because I am at peace with what I am carrying out.

“It’s taken me so long to find one thing which I could do for myself. I found images.

“When I go out and I am getting photographs in nature every thing just goes absent. It feels wonderful and I simply cannot look back now.”

He now goes out for all-around half an hour, 3 or 4 instances a 7 days.
