Veteran MP Sir David Amess was killed in a “vicious and frenzied assault” by a “fanatical terrorist” who experienced formerly focused Michael Gove, a courtroom has heard.

Ali said “sorry” and then pulled out a knife and stabbed Sir David, the jury was told.

Police bodycam footage played to the courtroom confirmed Ali holding a knife in advance of he was arrested by two plain-clothed officers who ended up initial to answer to the scene, armed only with a baton and a material comparable to pepper spray.
