Award-successful artist Helen Cammock who was born domestically, has been honoured by the College of Wolverhampton for her contribution to the arts. Cammock was presented with an Honorary Degree of Medical doctor of Arts on Monday, 18 July 2022. The award was presented to Helen at a College of Wolverhampton graduation ceremony at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre.
Helen reported: “What an honour this is and a authentic surprise. I want to thank the University for taking into consideration me worthy of these types of an award. This 12 months has been really exclusive to appear back again to Wolverhampton to function in the College of Art with some hugely skilled and supportive members of employees.
“I arrived to art as a next career from ten decades functioning in the social get the job done placing and have managed to obtain a language to say what I have to have to say in the planet. Helen Cammock, who was born in Staffordshire, is effective across movie, photography, print, text and functionality and was one of the artists getting aspect in the new British Art Demonstrate 9 (BAS9) exhibition in Wolverhampton.
